How Comments Work

This blog's comment system runs on a service called IntenseDebate. Its use is fairly straightforward. You may comment under a pre-existing identity through several services, or you can craft a persona for yourself from scratch. When commenting, bear in mind the following rules:

1) Comments are a sandbox; you can say whatever you want, but make sure it is clear, thoughtful, and hopefully germane to the post topic.
2) Comments are not, as a rule, moderated. If a particular comment offends you, please let the author know via email and it will be looked into.
3) If you find that your comment was flagged for moderation, do not worry; there are several automatic filters in place and the comment should post with relative alacrity. If it does not, again, please email the author.
4) Like Willow, trolls are hated here. You have been warned.
5) You may post your comments under your real-life identity or an assumed one, but there is no "Anonymous" option. You may comment under throwaway personas, if you feel the need, but it will diminish the value of the conversation, and in all likelihood, we will still know it's you.

With these ground rules in mind, we're off to the races. Enjoy.
